E-mail: About Tom CCPS Chrobak
Tom Chrobak, CCPS is the nation’s leading expert on getting into and paying for college - as well as helping students choose their careers and command top money in their fields. He is also famous for helping families that didn’t save enough for college get on track for their retirement.
He was born in Poland and raised in the Chicago area since coming to the U.S with his family when he was 11 years old. His family’s lack of financial resources to fund his college costs and a sister who was a Financial Aid Director at a private college, have combined to help Tom enter world of financial aid early on. Since then Tom has spent hours of his personal time and money researching the financial aid system and how it can help others. Since launching his college planning company, currently located in Rosemont, IL, Tom Chrobak and his colleagues have worked with over 1125 families helping them attain their college dreams. Tom is highly sought after as a speaker for private groups, and teaches classes on the college process regularly throughout Illinois and is an author/co-author of several books on college planning. He is also, one of the select few financial advisers to receive the designation of Certified College Planning Specialist (CCPS). This specialized technical training, combined with his financial background, results in strategies that allow his clients to access other people’s resources, such as college endowment funds and tax strategies, to reduce education costs. Tom says: “You’d be shocked how many families just got busy with day to day living and haven’t saved enough for college. Even more shocking, is understanding how much money is left unclaimed by families incorrectly assuming they don’t qualify for financial aid, while mostly getting very minimal help from their well intentioned, but overworked guidance counselors. In addition to helping them claim their fair share, I don’t feel like I’ve done my job unless we’ve left that family in better financial shape than we’ve found them". Tom currently resides near his family in the suburbs of Chicago with his wife, Sonia. |
